Serve

St Fransis of Assisi said, “Share the gospel at all times; use words if necessary.”
When it comes to sharing the gospel, words are necessary. But often times the gospel needs to be seen before it can be believed. Serving proves the gospel in our lives. Serving the church and our community comes from us as a by-product of our relationship with Jesus Christ.
First Baptist Church equips people to serve by offering periodic PLACE Workshops. You can check out the PLACE website here. Stay tuned on the web here on our site and look for Facebook announcements for our next workshop. Here’s what PLACE stands for and does for you:

PLACE

P – Personality Discovery – We are not all the same. Each of us is uniquely designed.
L – Learning Spiritual Gifts –We are not all gifted the same by God. But we need each other’s gifting for the church to grow.
A – Abilities Awareness -- We need to know what environment we best serve in and what our abilities are so we can serve with joy.
C – Connecting Passion – We are much more effective in serving when we serve when we have passion and excitement. Where are you passionate?
E – Experiences – We know God uses our past experiences so we can be serve other people who are going through the challenges we have been through.
 

Below are a few quick tools to help you learn your spiritual gifts. Use them if you are spiritually hungry and want to serve. Let the staff know where you want to serve. And we will let you know when the next PLACE Workshop happens.
